Public Service Announcements


Radio stations are required by the FCC to air public service announcements (PSAs). PSAs inform listeners of community events and services. They are also used raise awareness about public policy or health issues.

Public service announcements range in length of time -from 15 seconds, up to a minute and a half. Their styles can be dramatic, humorous, or simple and informative.

UB Broadcasting is producing radio PSAs for the UB Rock Show this summer:

Event: Upward Bound's 1st Anual Rock Show
Date: July 23
Time: 8 to 10 p.m.
Bands: Paranoid Effect and Vial 8
All proceeds go to Sojourners Alliance
Activities: a 50-50 raffle, concession stand (donated by coke), UB Broadcasting will be recording the rock show and live interviews with band members and the audience. The Rock Show will be aired Friday morning, July 25th, on KUOI 89.3 FM, from 9:30 to Noon.
